General FAQ's

Q. What makes your products better than ones I can get at a local department store?
A. Quality and dependability are important to us. Our products are of a high grade, professional quality. Their commercial grade means they are built to last and are reliable for your decorating needs. If we wouldn't buy them for our home or business then we won't sell them to you.

Q. How long will it take to process my order?
A. Most orders are processed within 24 hours. The shipping times vary from product to product.  In the event a product becomes unavailable you will be notified immediately.  At that time you have the option to cancel the order and be refunded or wait until the item is available.

Q. Is it safe to order online from your website?
A.
Yes. We use the most secure (secure socket layer) technology available to ensure your privacy and security.  We also use technology to inspect our site daily for any possible security issues.

Lighting FAQ's

Q. How do I now how many lights I need to decorate my tree?
A. This depends on the size of the tree and the type of lights you are using.

Tree Height Using Mini-Light
Light Strings
Using C-7
Light Strings
3 feet tall 150 Lights 25 Lights
4 feet tall 200 Lights 50 Lights
5 feet tall 250 Lights 75 Lights
6 feet tall 300 Lights 100 Lights
Over 6 tall 400 Lights
Add 100 lights for each additional foot.
100 Lights
Add 25 lights for each additional foot.

If you are using C-9 Light strings multiply the tree width x height, then x 1.5.
For a brighter tree multiply the tree width x height, then by 3.

Q. What are LED lights and why are they more expensive than regular lights?
A. LED stands for "light emitting diode". They are increasingly popular for many reasons:
  1. They use much less power, generating little heat. This makes them safer to use.
  2. They use from 80-90% less electricity then conventional lights so they are less expensive to run.
  3. They are more durable. Because LED lights are made of a special plastic with no filament there are no glass bulbs to break or flake.
  4. The bulbs last longer depending on the color. The average life of a white bulb is 60,000 hours, colored bulbs average 100,000 hours. You won't have to replace them as often.
  5. You can connect up to 20 mini light stringers together safely for easier decorating.

STANDARD GRADE LED LIGHTS - PRODUCT OVERVIEW:

Average 200,000 hour rated bulb life

Each set uses 90-95% less energy compared to regular incandescent light sets.  Depending on overall usage
they can pay for themselves in one only season!

No filament to burn out.  Bulb illumination derived by a patented micro-chip process.

Non breakable bulbs - sets are constrcuted with durable polyresin material.

Vibrant colors won't fade - the absence of paint pigment and filament heat means colors that stay true and bright.

Q.  Do I need more than one LED power adapter depending on how many string lights I am connecting?
A.  You can go a total of 3,125 bulbs per power connector, so the total distance depends on the lengths of string lights and number of bulbs on each.  So, with a 12" spaced 50 bulb count, you can go a total distance of 3,125'.

Q.  What does CSA rated for indoor/outdoor use mean (vs UL)?
A.
CSA is a Canadian safety standard.  There are several third party standard associations, but UL is most commonly used in US.  CSA will pass all inspections.

Q. What does UL listed mean?
A.
This means that the product has been tested for safety by the Underwriters Laboratories. They are an independent laboratory used to certify a product has passed certain safety requirements.

Q. Why are your lights more expensive than department store type lights?
A. Our lights are commercial grade, high quality lights. They are built to last and be reliable from year to year. Our rope light sculptures are constructed of durable solid PVC rope light and attached to a non-rusting aluminum frame. The high quality materials make them a dependable decoration for many seasons to come.

Q. What is the difference between C7 and C9 light bulbs?

A. The basic difference between C7 and C9 light bulbs is the size and power of each.  Traditional C7 light bulbs are about 2" high from the base to the tip of the bulb, while C9 light bulbs are about 3" high.  Our C7 light bulbs are available in either 5 watt or 7 watt and the C9 light bulbs are available in either 7 watt or 10 watt.  By comparison, LED C7 bulbs and LED C9 light bulbs offer a brighter illumination with only .15 watts.

The C7 light bulb uses a candelabra base   and the C9 light bulb uses an intermediate base .
Therefore, if you are making your own string lights, make sure you purchase the appropriate socket type for the bulb you are using.

C7 bulbs and C9 bulbs are typically used to decorate outdoor areas, such as homes, perimeters, trees, buildings, storefronts etc. Due to their size compared to say mini lights, they can be easily seen from a distance.  Another unique application is to use both sizes on a Christmas tree for a more customized look.

Keep in mind that traditional C7 bulbs and C9 bulbs do get warm so be careful not to place them near anything flammable (i.e. a dry Christmas tree or your curtains).

If you are buying them by the string, usually a 12' long string of 25 bulbs, only connect up to three together.  If you are using 100 bulb strings, do not connect them together at all.

Q.What are the technical specifications of the commercial light strings?
A.See below for technical information for commercial light strings.
